Now that I live in the states I can't tell you how much I regret not enjoying the beach year round, now we do every change we get.
Porta del Sol offers many beautiful beaches for every type of "playero" (beach lover). If you love surfing, you will find great waves to ride in the town of Rincon. As you drive down south, the landscape becomes dryer and the beaches more calm and turquoise blue since you are heading towards Caribbean waters. When it comes to dining, if you love seafood, you will find tons of restaurants to choose from at very good prices since many of the restaurants are family owned. Cabo Rojo is the most famous for fresh seafood along La Mina de Oro and you can savor fresh oysters in the barrio of Boqueron. Those that prefer a more formal dining experience will delight as well, there are various fine restaurants in the towns of Rincon, Isabela, Aguadilla and Cabo Rojo. If you are seeking to vacation in a more relaxed beach atmosphere Porta del Sol is a great choice, you will find many budget family friendly accommodations.
